The Majors beat out Kingston, Windsor and Barrie to host the tournament. They will be returning to the Memorial Cup for the first time since 1961.
This years tournament will be held in Brandon, AB as the Wheat Kings will be joined by fellow WHL team, Calgary Hitmen, the OHL Champions and defending Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires and the winners of the QMJHL finals between the Moncton Wildcats and the Saint John Sea Dogs series ( The Wildcats lead 3-2 in the best of 7 series).
