Habs Knock off defending Champs

The whole country will be behind the Montreal Canadiens as they open up the Eastern Conference Finals against the winner of Game 7 between the Bruins and Flyers. The 8th seeded Habs have now knocked off the Presidents Trophy winning high scoring Washington Capitals, and the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

The streets of Montreal drew crowds of 1000's as fans exited the Bell Centre where the game was being shown on the Scoreboard. 32 people were arrested as violence broke out. Bottles were being thrown at police, store fronts were kicked in, but majority of the night was full of calm celebrating.

Montreal has been the surprise story of the playoffs and have shown the most heart out of any team I've seen. Mike Cammalleri is on fire as is Brian Gionta. Halak has stood on his head and when the game is on the line, he has delivered. Halak now sports a 5-0 record when facing elimination this playoffs. The play of Hal Gill and PK Subban on the point has been amazing as well through the first 2 series.

8 more wins to go...
