Habs Force Game 7

From the opening face-off last night, you could tell who the hungrier team was.

Cammalleri opened the scoring 73 seconds in and the Habs never looked back. Sid the Kid decided to enter the series in Game 6 as he batted a rebound into the top corner off a rebound from the Mark Eaton point shot. Kris Letang scored on the PP on a wrist shot 5:21 into the 2nd period and the crowd inside Bell Centre became quieter. This was not for long though as Cammalleri tied the game up 5 minutese later and then Spacek ripped a slap shot from the point 3 minutes later to give the Canadiens the lead again. Maxim Lapierre turned Alex Goligoski inside out 11 minutes into the 3rd and tucked one under M.A Fleury to give the Habs a 2 goal lead and a deffening roar from the crowd for the last 10 minute. Bill Guerin tipped a Sergei Gonchar point shot with the goalie out to make it interesting, but when the horn blew, the Habs had forced a game 7.

Goaltending
Jaro Halak put up another great performance stopping 34 of 37 shots, while the defense of Pittsburgh left M.A. Fleury who gave up 4 goals on 25 shots. Jaro made some big save down the stretch from blistering shots from Malkin who was teeing them up from his favorite spot. He didn't have much of a chance on two of the goals, but I am sure he would want the goal that squeeked by him off Letangs stick. Jaro was also lucky his best friend the post helped him out last night as the Pens rang pucks off the post a few times.

Defense
The Penguins D were in on all 3 goals so that side of the game was good, but the way they left M.A Fleury out to dry was not good and resulted in the Habs being able to force game 7. Jaro Spacek scored his first of the playoffs and for the most part the Habs defense played a steller game back there.

Forwards
Mike Cammalleri came out flying, scoring 2 goals and a great individual effort from Maxim Lapierre . Scott Gomez also had a great game for the Habs. Crosby finally tallied a goal in this series and you could tell his frustration has kicked in as he cross-checked one of the Habs defenseman at the end of the game.

See you at the Igloo where you win and you're in.
